I sort of dropped the ball on this one, so I’m going to post several days at once.
Day 17: A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life lately.
I started grad school this semester and it has been a big change for me. It’s been a good one, but very different.
Day 18- A picture of your biggest insecurity
Whether I weighed 105 pounds or 170, I’ve always struggled with my self image. I’ve been in some really unhealthy places and made some pretty scary choices, but I continue to work on it.
Day 19- A picture and a letter
Dear 10 year old self,
I wish you knew how great your tan is. I wish you knew that you didn’t have to hide your nerdiness, because in 15 years or so, you’ll learn to embrace it. I wish you knew that someday when you step on the scale and it says 110, that you are NOT fat. You know that cute redheaded boy down the street? You might want to watch out for him. He does NOT in fact, have cooties. He actually turns out to be pretty cute. Those older boys that you’ll someday drool over and do crazy things for? They so aren’t worth it. More than anything I want to tell you: Love yourself. You end up being a pretty cool chick.
Love,
Your 26 year-old self
Day 20- Somewhere you’d like to travel
Ireland! The only problem? I’m afraid I wouldn’t ever want to come back to the U.S.
