This summer, I read Mary Roach’s book Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers. I really enjoyed her scientific yet witty writing style. She left me contemplating my own afterlife and at the same time, gave me some rockin’ trivia knowledge of cadavers. Too bad Trivial Pursuit doesn’t have a special edition for that, you know?? Her same witty style was present in this book, as well as her ability to delve completely into her subject matter.
I didn’t feel as compelled to devour Bonk as I did Stiff. I don’t really know what to say about it, other than the fact that I felt much of the information was repetitive. I checked out her other book, Spook at the same time as this one so I will be reading it in the near future. I’m hoping that it is a much better read than this one. Before I read that, I have to read a different book that has a shorter checkout time from the library. I can’t wait to show you the cover on it!
